FAQs

Which compression mode should I choose?

Start with Recommended for text and vector PDFs. Try Strong for scans or image-heavy files, and use Maximum only when an image-only result is acceptable.

Does Recommended mode keep searchable text?

Recommended mode does not intentionally rasterize pages, so it provides the strongest preservation available in this browser workflow.

What does Maximum mode change?

Maximum mode rebuilds pages as images. Searchable text, links, forms, layers, signatures, and vector detail can be lost.

Will the result match my target size exactly?

No. A target is an approximation, and the tool stops before going below its quality floor.

Can I compress an encrypted or signed PDF?

Password-protected PDFs are not supported. Digitally signed PDFs should not be compressed because changing the file invalidates its signatures.

Is my PDF uploaded or stored?

No. The PDF is processed locally in your browser and is cleared when you reset or leave the page.
